In this educational webinar, the 7-HOPE Alliance partnered with Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) to find out how to stay safe when selecting and using kratom and emerging kratom-derived products like 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, and MGM-15.
This session was moderated by SSDP’s Finnegan McGuinness and featured addiction scientist Dr. Michele Ross who has lived experience with kratom as a chronic pain patient.
You’ll learn:
• The history of kratom, including when different types of products were developed
• What the different categories of kratom products are
• What kratom alkaloids might be in a product, and which ones are completely synthetic
• How to read a product label and understand formulation and dosage
• Why lab testing is so important – and where to check for it
• What the science says a safe dose is
• Potential drug interactions associated with different products
• Why sublingual films, vapes, and even drinks can be more risky
• Whether naloxone works overdose based on the product formulation and dose taken
• What to do if you think might be addicted to kratom or 7-OH
This webinar is intended to help viewers better understand the science, separate fact from misinformation, and engage in informed conversations about the future of these products.
