The 7-HOPE Alliance is proud to announce the launch of the largest national research survey on 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH). This groundbreaking effort will gather real-world data from people across the United States who use 7-OH products – and it comes at a critical moment.
With federal agencies and state legislatures considering bans, it is essential that the lived experiences of consumers are heard and documented. Just as scientific data helped prevent a federal kratom ban in the past, this survey will help inform today’s debate on 7-OH.
Why This Survey Matters
7-OH is a naturally-derived alkaloid from the kratom plant that has become an important harm reduction tool for many Americans. Yet misinformation and industry politics are driving efforts to restrict or ban it outright.
This survey will:
- Collect information on how U.S. adults use 7-OH products
- Document the benefits and lived consumers experience
- Explore how a potential federal ban would impact people’s lives
- Provide policymakers, researchers, and public health officials with real-world data
What to Expect
The survey is confidential, voluntary, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. No names or identifying personal information will be collected. Participants must be 18 years or older and located in the United States.
The results will be analyzed and published in scientific outlets, shared with regulators and public health officials, and made available to the public through 7-HOPE Alliance updates. Our goal is to reach at least 3,000 responses to create the most comprehensive dataset on 7-OH use to date.
